You have the option to set it to go off in 5 seconds, which is a fairly short time. It is also possible to set it to go off as soon as the phone is moved, which will give you more time to look around.

You have the option to turn the alarm off, which will make it easier to use in case you don't need it. It is also possible to cancel it while it is activating, which will make it easier to use in case you are not in a position to cancel it immediately after it goes off.
